About this piece
On a world with no professional sport as humans know it, this figure invented his own version of one anyway, hitting a small ball against a strip of woven netting until his form was flawless. He never had an opponent, only the rhythm of the serve itself, over and over, until it became less a game and more a kind of meditation. This handcrafted wire art piece captures him at the peak of that serve, racket raised overhead in dark wire, body coiled and balanced on a small wood base beside a scaled-down net and a tiny tennis ball resting nearby. The wire holding the racket strings was worked especially fine to keep the proportions believable at this small scale. As with the rest of the AndyMan collection, there are no molds involved here — every curve of his swing was shaped freehand, making this a true one-of-a-kind wire sculpture rather than a mass-produced likeness. It's an easy pick for tennis players, coaches, or fans of the sport who want something for a trophy shelf or office desk. As a collectible wire figurine, this handmade metal figurine also works as a unique wire art gift for anyone who loves the quiet discipline behind a perfect serve.
