About this piece
Before there were words on the metal world, there was sound — the ring of metal against metal, and this figure was the first to shape that ringing into something like music. He built himself a small stringed instrument from scrap and taught himself to play it standing upright, arms raised, entirely absorbed in whatever tune only he could hear. This handcrafted wire art piece captures him mid-performance, arms lifted and slightly bent as though holding a small instrument close to his shoulder, worked in a dark, aged bronze wire that gives him a timeless, old-world presence. He's shown positioned along a small wood shelf edge, as if performing from a home library or music room rather than a formal stage. Every angle of his raised arms and tilted head was shaped freehand, without any mold, making this a genuine one-of-a-kind wire sculpture rather than a repeated casting. It's a natural fit for musicians, music teachers, or anyone with an instrument collection at home. As a collectible wire figurine, this handmade metal figurine also makes a fittingly soulful, unique wire art gift for someone who fills their own home with music.
